Heavy-Duty Gloss Black T-Strap Gate Hinge Series – 5″ & 8″
This T-strap hinge series is designed for wooden gates, shed doors, barn doors, fence gates and similar hinged structures. Choose the hinge length and profile according to the gate dimensions, weight, mounting area and supporting structure.
Finish and appearance
Zinc-plated steel with a UV-resistant gloss-black powder coating. Its classic polished appearance complements traditional wooden gates, barns, sheds and coordinated black gate hardware.
Upgraded full-length through-pin
A continuous full-length pin runs through the hinge barrel. Its mechanically retained ends help resist pin walk-out under repeated gate movement and load, improving retention compared with the earlier short-pin construction.
Thicker steel construction
The hinge is made from approximately 0.11 in (2.8 mm) thick steel. The heavier plate and wide strap improve rigidity and distribute the load across a larger mounting area than many commonly sold light-duty T-strap hinges.
Countersunk offset mounting holes
The countersunk holes provide a recessed seat for compatible screw heads, helping them sit more evenly against the hinge surface. The offset hole pattern distributes fasteners across the wood and reduces the risk of concentrating them along a single grain line.

Installation Planning
- Confirm hinge length, profile, gate weight and available mounting area before ordering.
- Use two hinges together for the stated pair capacity.
- Use supplied fasteners only when suitable for the installation material and required load.
- Seat compatible screw heads fully in the countersunk holes without over-driving.
- Align both hinges before final tightening and check fastener tightness after the initial service period.
