Chain Link Gate Male & Female Hinge Series

This series provides the two complementary hinge components used on many chain-link swing gates. The male post hinge clamps to the stationary gate post and supplies the hinge pin. The female frame hinge clamps to the upright gate frame and fits over the compatible male hinge pin to form the swing pivot.

Important: male and female hinges are sold separately. Each Amazon selection contains two hinges of the selected type—not one male/female pair.

Before Ordering

• Measure the actual outside diameter of the specific tube where each hinge will be installed.
• Do not choose both components using only one pipe measurement: the male hinge is sized to the gate post, while the female hinge is sized to the gate frame.
• Confirm that the selected male and female hinges use the same 5/8″ hinge interface.

Installation Guidance

• Install the upper male hinge with its pin facing downward and the lower male hinge with its pin facing upward to help prevent the gate from being lifted off.
• Align the upper and lower hinge axes before fully tightening the hardware.
• After initial operation, recheck fastener tightness and gate alignment.
