Residential Chain Link Gate Fork Latch Series
This steel fork latch is designed for residential and light-duty chain-link swing gates. It clamps to the upright gate frame and closes around the adjacent latch post. The two-sided fork-latch arrangement allows the latch to be lifted from either side of the gate, while the built-in padlock hole provides an option for securing the closed gate.
The fork arm pivots through approximately 90° for release and closure. Correct sizing, alignment and spacing between the gate frame and latch post are essential for proper operation.

How to Select the Correct Size
- Measure the outside diameter of the gate-frame upright where the latch body will clamp.
- Measure the outside diameter of the stationary latch post that the fork will close around.
- Select the size in Gate Frame OD × Latch Post OD order.
- Confirm the spacing between the gate frame and latch post allows the fork to close fully and align with the padlock opening.
Installation Notes
- Loosen the mounting hardware and position the clamp around the gate-frame upright.
- Align the fork with the latch post while the gate is in its normal closed position.
- Tighten the fasteners evenly and verify that the fork opens, closes and accepts a padlock without binding.
- Recheck fastener tightness after initial use.
