Adjustable, Serviceable J-Bolt Hinges for Heavy Swing Gates
Designed for driveway gates, farm gates, steel gates and other demanding swing-gate installations. The threaded J-bolt design allows installers to adjust gate position and clearance after mounting.
Ball-bearing pivot with grease fitting
Each barrel hinge uses an internal steel ball-bearing pivot to support smooth gate movement under load. A built-in grease fitting allows periodic lubrication to help reduce pivot wear and maintain smooth operation. Use an appropriate grease; this is not an oil-lubricated or maintenance-free hinge.
Bolt-on, adjustable installation
The mounting plate bolts to a suitable post or supporting structure, avoiding field welding. Dual adjustment nuts on the threaded J-bolt support alignment and clearance adjustment after mounting.
Black e-coated finish
The exterior steel hinge components have a black electrophoretic coating for uniform outdoor corrosion protection. Periodic inspection and maintenance are recommended in coastal, chemically aggressive or high-moisture environments.

Installation and load notes
- The 5 in and 7 in model names refer to the overall mounting-plate height.
- Install two hinges together for the stated pair load rating.
- Confirm the supporting post or structure, mounting fasteners and gate frame are suitable for the expected load.
- Actual performance depends on gate construction, post strength, fasteners, installation geometry and installation quality.
- Do not combine the ratings of multiple pairs to claim a higher capacity for one gate without engineering verification.
- Inspect the hinges and replenish grease periodically according to operating frequency and environmental exposure.
